Fort Gibraltar has opened its doors for the season to provide guided daily tours showcasing Manitoba’s history, tradition and culture.

The Fort’s historical interpretation centre will be open until September 2, where a cast of colourful characters captivate visitors through a tour of the days of 1815.

Offered in English and French, visitors will visit the blacksmith shop, trading post, workshop and the winterers’ cabin, where they will learn more about the daily lives of the inhabitants of the Fort and the conflict between the North West Company and the Hudson Bay Company.

As part of Doors Open Winnipeg this Sunday, the public can visit Fort Gibraltar for free between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
