Those living with multiple sclerosis in Manitoba now have access to legal aid under a new program launched by the MS Society of Canada.
The Volunteer Legal Advocacy Program (VLAP) is the first of its kind in the province and helps people with MS pro bono legal advice and/or representation to work through insurance, income security, employment equity, and estate planning.
The program is based on the current model offered in British Columbia, to ensure that the individual is able to focus on his or her health and well-being, rather than on financial burden.
