A campus-wide clean-up at the University of Manitoba today will help beautify the grounds as summer approaches.
The 2012 University of Manitoba Campus Beautification Day will begin at 9 a.m., as staff, students, faculty and retirees pitch in on the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses. Volunteers will be picking up paper, raking, sweeping, pulling weeds and planting flowers. Garden centres in Winnipeg are donating flowers and plants and special projects are being coordinated and planned in various faculties and areas.
A BBQ lunch will be fed to volunteers at noon in the quad on the Fort Garry campus and in front of the Brodie Centre downtown.
In the event of rain, the event will be held on Friday, May 25.
