The American Association has suspended two players from the Winnipeg Goldeyes after weekend games in El Paso, Texas.

Outfielder/designated hitter Jon Weber has been suspended two games and first baseman Yurendell de Caster has been suspended one game for being ejected following an altercation in the eighth inning of Saturday’s game. Both players will begin serving their suspensions immediately.

The Goldeyes announced Monday that pitcher Brian Leach has been released from the team. The 26-year-old had an 11.74 ERA in three outings, including one start.

The Fish host the Amarillo Sox Tuesday night for the team’s home opener at Shaw Park. Game time is 7 p.m. More than 7,100 tickets have been sold for the game.
