Man’s Death in Thompson Treated as a Homicide

Thompson RCMP are investigating what’s now a homicide after a 42-year-old man was found injured Wednesday morning.

Police say the man was taken to hospital at about 12:30 a.m. and later succumbed to his injuries.

One person is in custody in relation to the incident, which occurred at a residence in the Eastwood area of Thompson. No charges have been laid against the individual allegedly involved.

The name of the deceased isn’t being released and police continue to investigate.

An autopsy will be scheduled in Winnipeg.

UPDATE: Thursday, May 31 — The victim has been identified as Allan David Pronteau of Thompson. Pronteau’s daughter, Jacqueline Brightnose, 18, has been charged with manslaughter and is appearing in Thompson court this morning.
