The Walk for ALS will have some beauty pageant volunteers this weekend at Assiniboine Park.

Miss Teen Manitoba-World, Courtney Mandock, 18, and Miss Teen Southern Manitoba-World, Devon Shewchuk, 16, will volunteer at the walk, which begins at 10 a.m. in the southeast picnic area parking lot on Saturday, June 2.

Mandock is a graduate of Garden City Collegiate, with French immersion honors and a dual diploma. She recently completed her first year in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba.

Shewchuk is in Grade 11 at West Kildonan Collegiate and will be spending time with her family in Gimli this summer to raise awareness about the misconceptions associated with ADHD and Tourette’s Syndrome.

The Walk for ALS is an annual fundraiser for the ALS Society of Manitoba, which raises funds to research and find a cure for ALS, while helping to provide support services to families affected by ALS.
