Anglers don’t need to worry about having a fishing licence the next two days, as Manitoba launches free family fishing weekend.
From June 9-10, anglers can fish without a licence provincewide, except in national parks where a federal licence is still required.
“Fishing is a great way for families and friends to spend time together outdoors and we have some world-class fishing opportunities right across the province,” said Conservation and Water Stewardship Minister Gord Mackintosh. “I hope Manitobans and visitors will pick up a rod and reel and take the opportunity to fish for free.”
A conservation limit on fish allowed to be kept varies by species. Specific guidelines can be found in the 2012 Manitoba Anglers’ Guide.
