The sixth annual all-star football camp hosted by the Israel Idonije Foundation (IIF) is set for Saturday, June 16 at the University of Manitoba.

The free one-day camp will give children aged 10-14 the opportunity to be coached by Chicago Bears defensive end and former Manitoba Bison Israel Idonije, and 20 current Bison football players including head coach Brian Dobie.

The camp will run from 1-3 p.m. at the Winnipeg Soccer Federation Indoor Soccer Complex, 211 Chancellor Matheson Road, on the U of M’s Fort Garry campus.

“The Bison football program has been a critical part of our All-Star camp every year, and I always look forward to coming home to Winnipeg,” Idonije said in a release.

Participants for the camp are selected through a partnership with local agencies that service low income students and families, including Y-NOT, Boys and Girls Club (BGC) and the Winnipeg Aboriginal Sports Achievement Centre (WASAC).
