The University of Manitoba Bison men’s hockey team will open their 2012-13 season on the road September 28.
The Bisons will face Alberta in the first game of their regular Canada West season, while the women open at home on October 5.
The conference will see the addition of Mount Royal this year, bringing the number of teams to eight. The women’s schedule will include four more games, with six teams now qualifying for the post-season.
The men’s home opener will start the weekend of October 12-13 at Max Bell Arena against Saskatchewan. In the first half, Manitoba hosts Lethbridge (November 9-10), Regina (November 23-24) and Alberta (November 30-December 1), while hosting new team Mount Royal in the second half on January 11-12 then Calgary at home on January 18-19 and UBC on February 1-2.
