A 58-year-old lawyer with a passion for raising awareness for physical activity in youth was in Winnipeg Thursday night.

Don Patterson stopped by the Fermor Avenue YMCA-YWCA to promote his upcoming cross-Canada bike tour in support of “Y” programs.

Patterson will start his journey in Vancouver on Monday, June 25 and finish in St. John’s, NL by July 22. His goal is to pedal more than 250 kilometres each day and complete his 7,000-kilometre ride in just 28 days.

Patterson’s self-funded ride should see him pass through Winnipeg on about July 4.
