Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a single-vehicle crash that killed one person and injured four others early Sunday morning.

RCMP say the crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. on PR 342 about 1.5 kilometres south of the Cypress River in the RM of Victoria.

The vehicle was travelling on a gravel road when it lost control and rolled.

The 22-year-old man driving the car was taken to Glenboro Hospital and later transferred by air ambulance to Winnipeg with serious injuries.

A 22-year-old female passenger from Cypress River was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 46-year-old woman was transported to Brandon hospital with serious injuries, while a 21-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were both transported to Glenboro Hospital and received treatment for their injuries.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
