Hotel rates in Winnipeg have dropped 14 percent for the fourth consecutive month, according to a leading discount travel website.
Hotwire.com said on Thursday that Winnipeg ranked first in its Canadian hotel rate report for June.
“Winnipeg has blossomed over the past decade into a diverse destination,” the website said. “Complete with a rich culture and arts scene, globally inspired cuisines and exciting attractions, Winnipeg has something unique to satisfy various types of travellers.”
An average nightly rate at a 3.5-star hotel in Winnipeg goes for $99.
Whistler and Victoria followed with four and five percent price drops, respectively.
