Organizers of the Winnipeg Folk Festival are reminding campers not to line up on Highway 59 Wednesday morning.

For a second year in a row, vehicles waiting to enter Birds Hill Park will not be permitted to line up on the highway outside of the gate.

RCMP will be patrolling the highway to ensure no one is stopped or lined up prior to 7 a.m. when the gates open. Last year, no tickets were issued as patrons followed the guidelines.

More than 6,000 campers are expected to file into the park for the festival, which runs July 4-8.

Entry to the festival also requires a 2012 park pass this year, which costs $30. The park gate accepts cash only (no debit or credit cards).
