A Winnipeg man was arrested Sunday after he tried to rob four restaurants.
Police said the man started his spree at about 1:30 pm., where he went into a restaurant in the 300 block of York Avenue and demanded money. Unsuccessful, he then went into the restaurant’s lounge, but didn’t walk away with cash.
He then tried again in the 300 block of St. Mary Avenue, targeting two different restaurants within five minutes of each other, but also didn’t come out with cash.
A security guard managed to nab the thief but was slightly injured in the process. Police arrested the man, who they say is also wanted in connection with another restaurant robbery on June 23, 2012.
Murray James Gray, 49, faces charges of robbery, robbery with intent and assault. He has been detained.
