A cross-country hockey tournament to raise food for Canada’s homeless shelters made a stop in Winnipeg on Saturday.

Five Hole for Food held an outdoor street hockey game at The Forks in support of Siloam Mission. The public dropped off bags of food all afternoon long and teams also pledged to bring in donations.

Organizers hope to raise 100,000 pounds of food during their 13-city tour to help Canadians in need.

Almost 43,000 pounds of food was raised last year for community food banks.
