The Province of Manitoba is currently fixing what may be the province’s biggest leaky roof.

About $1.5 million is being spent to replace the Manitoba Legislature Building’s skylight system above the grand staircase. The skylights are currently leaking and damaging the plaster on the roof.

The skylight is nearly 100 years old, is full of lead and repairs just aren’t working anymore. The two bison statues on the stairs are being covered in plywood as a precaution in case anything falls from above.
