Southbound Lanes of New Disraeli Bridge to Open

July 25, 2012 8:09 AM | News

Drivers will be able to drive on the new Disraeli Bridge for the first time today.

Following rush hour, the new bridge will be opening to southbound traffic, where motorists will travel onto the existing Disraeli Overpass.

“The opening of the new bridge brings us one step closer to completion of this much anticipated, multi-year project,” said Mayor Sam Katz. “With this P3 project coming in on budget and on time, Winnipeggers are getting new infrastructure and extremely good value for their money.”

Northbound lanes of the new Disraeli Overpass opened last month. Construction will continue through the summer and fall with all the lanes of the Disraeli Overpass and Disraeli Bridge slated to open in October 2012.
