Two Winnipeg city councillors will lend a hand today in Habitat chez soi’s construction project (the Francophone committee of Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg).

Couns. Dan Vandal and Brian Mayes will participate in the ongoing work to build a new house for the Ndagijimana-Ndabacekure family on Essex Avenue.

“It is clear to me that these types of projects not only help build affordable housing for families in need, but also reinforce a sense of pride and accomplishment for the entire community of volunteers who participate,” Vandal said in a release.

The majority of the house is set to be completed by August 3. Numerous volunteers and local francophone organizations will also be participating in the build.
