The Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg received a donation of 880 new athletic shoes on Tuesday.
The donation was made by Canadian Tire Jumpstart and Sport Chek, and will give children from the summer learning enrichment program the opportunity to make the most out of sports and recreational activities.
The donation is the largest of its kind that the organization has received to date.
“This donation helps all of our CSI (Community School Investigators) students in the coming school year,” said Ron Brown, president and CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs. “Being prepared both academically and physically provides a solid foundation for them to succeed in living a healthy and active lifestyle.”
