Memorial Park will become an outdoor movie theatre next week as the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ screens flicks from the 30s, 70s and 80s.
The first movie will be “Hairspray” on August 7, followed by “Footloose” on August 14, “Wizard of Oz” on August 21 and “Grease” on August 28.
“What better way to spend your evening downtown than at Memorial Park with friends and family and classic movies like Wizard of Oz and Grease?” said Stefano Grande, executive director of BIZ.
Pre-movie activities will include a vintage car show, hair-do contest, dance contest, live entertainment and more. Movies will begin before dusk.
