A stolen pickup truck was left on a railroad track in the RM of Reynolds on Tuesday night — subsequently being hit by an oncoming train.

RCMP responded to the crash at about 11:15 p.m., where they found the crushed 1996 GMC 1500. No one was in the vehicle at the time.

The registered owner was located, and it was determined the truck was stolen from his yard earlier in the night.

RCMP and the CP Rail Police continue to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lac du Bonnet RCMP at (204) 345-6311.
