Youth Charged After Allegedly Setting Garage on Fire

A 16-year-old male youth has been charged after allegedly setting a garage on fire in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

Winnipeg police say the teen was reported as being suspicious in the area, where he reportedly entered a garage and removed property. As he was being taken into custody, officers noticed the garage was on fire. The flames were quickly extinguished by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.

The teen has been charged with break and enter, arson, and failure to comply with a sentence.

He was detained in custody.
