Tickets for the first annual Winnipeg BBQ & Blues Festival go on sale today.
Pit masters from across Canada and the U.S. will be competing for a $10,000 cash prize to cook up the best BBQ over the two-day event, August 17-19 at Red River Exhibition Park.
“We’ve got a weekend jam-packed with red-hot Blues featured on three stages beginning each day at noon,” said Rick Fenton, managing event partner. “You won’t want to miss these performances by some of the best Blues performers in the business right here in Winnipeg.”
Saturday’s lineup includes Jimmy Vaughan and the Tilt a Whirl Band on the Famous Dave’s BBQ main stage, plus Curtis Newton, The Jake Breaks, Tim Butler Band, Driving Wheel, and more.
An artisan’s village, food vendors, Granny’s Poultry and Manitoba Turkey Producers’ Turkey Chili Thrown, and the 5 Alarm Firefighters’ Cook Off are also part of the weekend.
Single day passes go on sale this morning at Ticketmaster for $20. Weekend passes are already on sale for $37.50.
