The Winnipeg Goldeyes have declared Wednesday, August 8 to be Hockey Night.
The baseball club will host the special night as junior hockey training camps and NHL camps begin shortly.
Winnipeg Jets assistant general manager Craig Heisinger will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial opening pitch and fans will have the opportunity to bid on a pair of Winnipeg Jets tickets to a game during the 2012-13 season. The proceeds will go the Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation.
The first 1,000 fans in attendance on Wednesday to watch the Goldeyes take on the Sioux Falls Pheasants will receive a skate towel, courtesy of game sponsor Milwaukee Tools.
Minnesota Wild defenceman and Manitoban Justin Falk and local Western Hockey League players will be on the concourse signing autographs for fans during the game.
