The Winnipeg Goldeyes swapped a pair of players with the Gary SouthShore RailCats over the long weekend.
The baseball club acquired outfielder Mike Coles and right-handed pitcher Chris Allen in exchange for right-handed pitcher Dexter Carter and a player to be named later.
Coles, 29, is in his sixth season of independent baseball. He hit .300 with three home runs, 43 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 72 games with the RailCats this season.
Allen, currently in his fifth season, is 4-5 with a 3.32 ERA in 31 games out of the bullpen. The 27-year-old has six saves and 38 strikeouts in 43.1 innings.
