A traffic stop on Sunday night led to fraud charges being laid against a Winnipeg man.

Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Notre Dame Avenue and Simcoe Street at about 10:30 p.m. One of the five occupants of the vehicle fled the scene once the vehicle came to a stop.

Police pursued the suspect with the help of the canine unit and made an arrest.

Travis Adam Findlay, 33, is charged with possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession to sell or transfer an identity document, two counts of possessing the identity information of another person, and breach of probation.

He remains in custody.
