A community forum on arson is planned for the North End this evening.
Winnipeg police, along with Michael Redhead Champagne of Aboriginal Youth Opportunities and city councillors Ross Eadie and Mike Pagtakhan, will hold the forum at the Ukrainian Canadian Institute Prosvita, 777 Pritchard Avenue.
Anyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the North End Bell Tower at Selkirk Avenue and Powers Street at 6 p.m. to show their support for the local youths and members of the North End community, who meet at this location every Friday to share information and strengthen community commitment.
Organizers and attendees will then walk to the Ukrainian Canadian Institute Prosvita to update residents on various occurrences taking place in the community and provide crime prevention information specific to personal safety and how to prevent arsons in their community.
Refreshments will be provided.
