WRHA Warns of E-mail Scam to Lure Overseas Nurses

August 13, 2012 1:31 PM | News

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is warning the public about false employment offers being made to health care workers overseas using the WRHA’s name.

Health officials say e-mails have been sent to nurses in the Philippines asking for a $90 “British English Training Fee.” The WRHA says these offers are not legitimate.

The health authority was alerted to the scam when Winnipeg relatives of those contacted inquired with the WRHA about the offers. Police have been made aware of the scam.

Anyone interested in employment opportunities with the WRHA should call (204) 926-7084 or visit their website.
