August 14, 2012 6:45 AM | News

A group of more than 160 inner-city youth will be celebrated for their volunteer commitments on Thursday.

Youth Agencies Alliance will host a ceremony for the youth at Assiniboine Park, who have collectively spent in excess of 9,000 hours this summer volunteering in their communities.

The program was organized by the Rotary Leadership Circle, through a partnership of the Rotary Club of Winnipeg and the YAA, as a leadership development and summer work project for youth ages 10-14. RLC has 16 sites and runs for six weeks in the summer.

The ceremony will take place at the duck pond shelter at noon.
