Manitoba’s Interlake Under Severe Wind and Heavy Rain Alert

Manitoba has issued a severe wind warning and high water advisory for the Interlake region.

Environment Canada is forecasting winds to reach 70 kilometres per hour and a severe wind warning is in effect for the south basins of lakes Winnipeg, Manitoba and Winnipegosis.

These forecast winds have the potential to cause two to three feet of wind setup and significant waves.

Areas that may be affected include Grand Rapids, Arborg, Hecla, Fisher River, Gypsumville, Ashern, Poplar River, Berens River, Little Grand Rapids, Bloodvein, Atikaki, Bissett, Nopiming Provincial Park and Pine Falls.
