A group of 100 Winnipeg children aged 10-16 will learn baseball skills and techniques from Toronto Blue Jays alumni and former Major League players on Thursday.

The 2012 Blue Jays Honda Super Camp will be held at Shaw Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as participants learn the game from former players such as Jesse Barfield, Denis Boucher, Homer Bush, Lloyd Moseby and Duane Ward.

Each participant will receive a Blue Jays hat, T-shirt, instructional manual, and photo card, along with a leather pro model Roberto Alomar Series baseball glove.

The camp is touring across 10 provinces this summer through the Jays Care Foundation, providing five scholarships at each stop for entry fees to help remove financial barriers to participation for children who would not otherwise have the chance to play baseball.
