A small plane overshot the runway at the Altona Airport on Monday night, sending two people to hospital.
RCMP say it happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. when the Piper aircraft travelling westbound attempted to land on a grass landing strip. The plane continued travelling west after touching down and came to an abrupt stop in a drainage ditch on the far west end of the runway.
The pilot, a 70-year-old Altona man, and a 65-year-old male passenger from Altona, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol is not considered a factor.
RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
