A walk to raise funds for the battle against colorectal cancer is planned for Saturday, September 8 at Kildonan Park.
Appropriately titled the Kick Butt Walk, the fifth annual event is expecting close to 400 people to support the cause.
This year the proceeds will go to CancerCare Manitoba and support people and their families living with colorectal cancer, while also helping to educate the public about the disease.
The 3k and 5k event will include a silent auction, food, and colourful costumes.
“People are encouraged to wear a butt cover such as pajamas or boxers,” said Sid Chapnick, co-chair for the event. “This helps to promote awareness of the disease and to decrease the stigma about cancers below the belt.”
