A 38-year-old man from Fairford First Nation was killed Thursday night after police say he was lying in the road and was run over.

RCMP received a report at about 11 p.m. of a man walking northbound on Highway 6 near Maple Beach Road. Local EMS advised police that the man may be intoxicated. About 20 minutes later a call came in to 911 about a deceased male in the southbound lane on the same highway.

Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call (204) 659-2682.
