A local dealership is coming together to honour a colleague on Sunday who passed away from cancer.
Birchwood Kia on Regent is launching their second annual Drive Change event, where funds for CancerCare Manitoba will be raised during a day-long initiative.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the public can attend 1364 Regent Avenue West and be treated to a haircut by a professional stylist for $5.
“This year, we wanted to do something different,” said Ross Roteliuk, sales manager at Birchwood Kia. “We thought of the Cuts for Cancer idea after the passing of our beloved friend and colleague, Martin Olafson.”
The event will include family-friendly activities, hot dogs and refreshments, a car wash, and live music. Birchwood Kia on Regent will match every dollar raised for this event in support of CancerCare.
The Kia Motors’ Drive Change campaign promotes positive changes in communities across Canada.
