More than 700 cyclists will ride to end MS this weekend for the 23rd annual Biking to the Viking MS Bike Tour.

The national bike tour program is the largest cycling series in North America and helps raise funds and awareness for the fight against multiple sclerosis.

Riders will gear up for the 160-kilometre trek Saturday morning at the Veterans Memorial Sports Complex in Stonewall. Cyclists will depart at 8 a.m. and ride towards Gimli, where they will spend the night before returning to Stonewall on Sunday.

Cyclists of all ages and abilities participate and must raise a minimum of $250 to be in the tour.

“It is such an inspirational weekend,” said Wendy O’Malley, president of the MS Society of Canada, Manitoba Division. “The energy, the emotion – it’s an experience that no one ever forgets.”
