Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s tour of the north continues today as he spends time in Churchill.

Harper arrived late Thursday to the northern Manitoba community and will be joined by Defence Minister Peter MacKay later this morning to participate in OP NANOOK 12 — Canada’s premiere annual northern sovereignty operation.

Harper will then be joined this afternoon by his wife, Laureen Harper, and General Walter Natynczyk of the Canadian Forces to deliver remarks following the operation.

The PM will end his visit with a photo-op at 7:45 p.m. at the Churchill Airport before departing.
