The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced details of the upcoming Manitoba Lotteries Canadian Football Hall of Fame Induction Weekend.
Running November 1-3, the weekend will induct Jack Abendschan, Damon Allen, Eric Lapointe, Milt Stegall, and Harvey (Tyrone) Jones (posthumously) in the player category. David Braley and Peter Connellan have been selected in the builder category. The new inductees will bring the total Hall of Fame members to 258.
Past Canadian Football and Blue Bomber Hall inductee Bob Cameron will serve as the weekend’s official ambassador.
Events will be held at McPhillips Station Casino and include a welcome breakfast, celebrity poker tournament and the unveiling of the inductees. A gala dinner will be held at the Winnipeg Convention Centre on Friday, November 2. The weekend concludes on Saturday, November 3 as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Montreal Alouettes at 2 p.m. at Canad Inns Stadium. There will be a tribute to the inductees at halftime.
Fundraising proceeds from the weekend will be donated to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, Hunger for Hope, Siloam Mission and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
