The FMG Dragon Boat Festival is September 7-9. (HANDOUT)
Lake Shirley Water Ski Park east of Winnipeg will be the scene of 115 registered teams for this weekend’s FMG Dragon Boat Festival.
From September 7-9, participants will be paddling in support of the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
“All the proceeds from the FMG Dragon Boat Festival will stay right here in Manitoba to support pediatric trials. By investing in clinical research and improving access to high-quality care, we can give every child the greatest chance of survival,” said Annitta Stenning, executive director of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. “We are so proud and grateful that donations help fund half of all pediatric clinical trials at CancerCare Manitoba.”
The public can attend 365 Murdock Road to cheer on the teams during the races. The festival will feature live entertainment, delicious food, kids’ activities, and vendors throughout the weekend.
