Old Fashioned Lemonade Sale Fundraising for City’s Youth

September 7, 2012 6:50 AM | News

Volunteers with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada will sell lemonade on Saturday at Polo Park Shopping Centre in support of the organization.

Through a partnership with Minute Maid, lemonade will be sold at the Roots store between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. on September 8.

Funds raised will help young people reach their full potential through mentoring.

“Our research shows that youth who have a mentor are less likely to bully or be bullied and more likely to stay in school,” said Bruce MacDonald, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

“We have thousands of children on waiting lists across the country, with the school year beginning, this event comes at a good time.”

Similar lemonade sales will take place across Canada at the same time.
