September 19 — that’s when IKEA will announce the opening date of their Winnipeg store.

The Swedish furniture giant on Friday said the public will find out on that day when the 390,000-square-foot store will open. Construction is on schedule and is expected to be completed by November or early December this year.

The structure at Sterling Lyon Parkway and Kenaston Boulevard has already started the hiring process for 300 staff, and named its local store manager, Stephen Bobko.
