Students at the University of Winnipeg scaled a giant rock on Friday as part of the 41st Annual Great Rock Climb and homecoming celebrations.

The yearly event pits teams against each other to try and scale a 25-ton granite “Rock of Remembrance” on the front lawn of the Portage Commons.

Prior to that, Lloyd Axworthy, U of W’s president and vice-chancellor, delivered his state of the university address.
