A 21-year-old Morden woman has died after her vehicle was hit head-on by a pickup truck on the Perimeter Highway early Sunday.
RCMP say the crash happened just before 4 a.m. near St. Anne’s Road. A 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes against traffic when the collision occurred. The woman was driving a 2001 Buick Century eastbound at the time of the crash.
The 49-year-old man from the RM of Ritchot driving the pickup was not injured. He was taken into police custody and charges are being determined.
The woman driving the Buick was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Her 23-year-old male passenger is listed in critical condition.
RCMP believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash and continue to investigate.
