The Winnipeg Airports Authority has been honoured in recognition of its Goldwing Ambassador program.

During a gala Monday evening, Travel Manitoba handed out the Manitoba Tourism Awards for outstanding contributions to the provincial tourism industry.

“We are privileged to have 107 volunteers serving passengers and airport visitors to provide an important and human element to the travel experience at Winnipeg Richardson International,” WAA president and CEO Barry Rempel said in a statement.

Goldwing Ambassadors are volunteers who give their time to assist passengers and other airport visitors, helping create a positive impression of the city and province.
