A series of concerts will mark the 25th anniversary of the West End Cultural Centre on October 19 and 20.
The two-day celebration will honour the artists and audiences who helped shape the WECC’s vision for the past 25 years.
On October 19, progressive thrash band Propagandhi will perform to commemorate the many punk, metal, and thrash bands that have been on stage at the centre. Guests include Head Hits Concrete and This Hisses.
On Saturday, October 20, a collaborative performance will showcase members of the folk and roots community. Featured performers include Nicky Mehta (The Wailin’ Jennys), Nancy Reinhold (formerly of Wyrd Sisters), Nathan Rogers & JD Edwards (Dry Bones), Daniel Roa, Ismaila Alfa, Keri Latimer (Nathan), Sam Baardman, Cara Luft, Lloyd Peterson, Scott Nolan, Vanessa Kuzina & MJ Dandenau (Oh My Darling), Andrina Turenne, Alexa Dirks and Ariane Jean (Chic Gamine), Red Moon Road, Greg Macpherson, and more.
Tickets are $20 for Friday night and $25 for Saturday, and can be purchased at the WECC, Ticketmaster, Music Trader and the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store.
