A 22-year-old Shoal Lake man was killed in a head-on collision Friday evening while riding a motorcycle.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Station Road and 1st Avenue in Shoal Lake.

RCMP say the 2008 Honda motorcycle was travelling southbound at the time when it collided with a 2003 Dodge pickup truck heading northbound.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital, but later died from his injuries. The 54-year-old Shoal Lake man driving the pickup wasn’t injured.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

UPDATE: Monday, September 17 — RCMP say the motorcycle crossed the centre dividing line and into the ongoing path of the truck. No charges are expected to be laid.
