September 17, 2012 10:56 AM | News

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash that injured multiple people Sunday evening on Highway 59 in front of the South Beach Casino.

RCMP say it happened at about 8 p.m. when a 2001 Ford pickup truck pulling a boat travelling southbound struck a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Malibu that was turning west in the intersection near Scanterbury.

Several people in the Malibu were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The 40-year-old Dugald man driving the truck was taken into police custody and charges are pending.

Police are continuing to investigate.
