The University of Winnipeg is launching a Wesmen Dance Team and has put the call out for auditions.
The team will provide students with high quality dance training and innovative artistic performances, and is geared towards male and female dancers who take their training seriously, value sportsmanship, and are passionate about dance.
The university says the team will perform at school and sports events and compete at a national level against other university teams. The competing University of Manitoba across town has their Bison cheerleaders.
Twenty-four dancers will make up the squad, with auditions taking place on Sunday, September 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the U of W’s Auxiliary Gym. Audition details are available at Wesmen.ca.
The first Wesmen Dance Team is expected to perform by the end of October.
