A series of more than 30 photographs depicting food will be on display in the Winnipeg Art Gallery today.
Food Matters Manitoba is offering the visual glimpse as part of food projects from across the province to show how food matters to Manitobans.
The photographs were taken by community members and food organizations from Fox Lake, schools across Manitoba, to Winnipeg’s North End.
The display will be open from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as part of the organization’s annual general meeting. The free public exhibition is a one-day only event.
Other Food Matters projects include recycling broken trampoline frames into low tech northern green houses, 70 plus newcomers turning unused space into urban gardens featuring foods from their home country, high school students connecting with local farmers, and the new North Point Douglas outdoor community oven.
