Winnipeg police are searching for suspects after a stolen vehicle collided with a taxicab early Friday morning, sending the cab to roll over onto its roof.

The crash happened at about 12:25 a.m. in the area of Academy Road and Kenaston Boulevard. Police say the Toyota Prius cab was travelling southbound on Kenaston when it was stuck by a Buick Le Sabre that went through a red light on Academy.

The suspects in the Buick fled the scene, while the 43-year-old male cab driver and a 23-year-old male passenger were taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police say the Buick was reported stolen on Thursday from the area of Roblin Boulevard and Dale Boulevard.

The investigation is continuing.
